The Pro Photo Business Forum

A safe place for amateur photographers with pressing business questions seeking honest, straightforward critiques.

Objections

I wanted to take this opportunity to address a few obvious objections as to why a photographer might not want to contribute or participate in the Pro Photo Business Forum.

Concerns:
Photographers and business owners seeking information to solve a certain problem, or improve their business, may feel uncomfortable talking openly about their situation, knowing that their local colleges and/or competitors may be listening in.

Additionally, photographers may be reluctant to contribute to the forum due to concerns the casual competitor browsing through will benefit from their contributions.

Solutions:
photography forumIn order to allow free and safe communication to occur, we encourage members concerned with the above issues not use their real names when registering their account at the PPBF. This allows members to request help with total anonymity.

Secondly, if you are concerned about accidentally sharing information with your local competitior, know that the only way to see the information contained in the forum is with a paid subscription. We might also suggest testing out the waters first by purchasing a single month of service. This will allow you to see how helpful the community is to your needs, and to see if other photographers in your area are members.

We’ve found that most professional photographers realize there is enough work for everyone, and most are more than willing to share what they have learned to benefit their fellow artist.  Those that are not willing to share what they have learned don’t join, and those that do join are willing to share and know they will benefit from the sharing of others.

The PPBF community strives to help it’s members become more efficient and make money, which means there is one more studio out there who’s not shooting for dirt-cheap, devaluing the photographic community, and that helps photographers everywhere.
